Kid Kitchen is a blog for kids who love to cook. With recipes that are easy, but not TOO easy, this blog is great for beginners and advanced alike. You’ll also find things like “Tip from KK”, links, reviews and more! when you see this sign: ∆ it means, get an adult’s help! I started this blog in 2013, a few months after my my love of cooking blossomed. I love writing, cooking, eating and acting, and am a TOTAL foodie. 🙂
Part of the philosophy of this blog is that kids CAN cook. I was getting sick of the kids cookbooks that tend to favor cartoon-heavy pages and microwave meals that often used processed junk. Because, through cooking, my palette expanded. I have begun to like more foods, and no longer do the cornflake crusted french toast of my old Betty Crocker Kids Cookbook appeal to me as much as a good REAL piece of salmon does. IF YOU ARE A KID: Make sure that you are not afraid to try that recipe you saw… hey, worst case scenario is that you mess up. We ALL do it. Especially me. So don’t shy away from trying. And it is ok if you aren’t a Masterchef Jr. at first… there will be plenty of time for that. Kid to kid.
IF YOU ARE AN ADULT:These recipes are still for you!! And please do make them for your kids and family members. And also encourage your kids to cook a lot.
There are a lot of great resources to use around us for cooking, but I encourage you to choose trusted ones… it matters.
Please see the Good for Reading page on the best places to look for food and the Tips and Tricks pages for info on commenting/following and a list of KK Tips posts. ALSO: Try the FAQs to see if your questions are answered, and the recipe index has EVERY RECIPE ON THIS BLOG. Seriously. Best way to search for stuff.
